Jackie Burns spends her first day with Bristol City at the Robins High Performance Centre

Bristol City Women have today announced the signing of Northern Ireland international goalkeeper Jackie Burns on a two-year contract, following the expiry of her Reading contract.

Following the unexpected demise of Reading Women after the 2023/24 season, Jackie has signed for the Robins ahead of the 2024/25 Women’s Championship campaign, as they look to immediately bounce back to the WSL.

The Northern Ireland international stopper has recently returned after spending 12-months recovering from a freak achilles injury suffered during training. She has since started 4 times for Club and 4 times for country, including the recent Nation’s League matches.

Speaking about her move to the South West, Burns said: “Bristol City have always been one of those teams which has competed for the Championship and you always want to go to a club which has a good backing. I have heard so much about the City supporters and how amazing they are. I am really excited to get started and get going with this team.”
