Barbora Votíková transfers to Slavia Prague
Barbora Votíková makes her return to Slavia Prague, three years after leaving Prague’s Eden Stadium to move abroad.
Czech champions Slavia Prague Women have announced an agreement with Spurs for the transfer of international Barbora Votíková on a three-year contract, through 2027.
Votíková, 28, returns home to the Czech capital after spending three seasons abroad with Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham Hotspur. During her time in Paris, Votíková helped the team win the Coupe de France and reach the semi-finals of the UEFA Women's Champions League, while the highlight of her time in England was securing Spurs’ first North London Derby win over Arsenal.
The move to Slavia Prague marks a homecoming for Votíková, who spent seven years at the Club before moving abroad. at the time, the Club won four league titles and a Czech Cup title, as well as reaching the Quarter-finals of the UEFA Women’s Champions League on three separate occasions. Her return strengthens Slavia’s ambitions to continue atop the Czech Women’s First League and make a deeper run in European competition.
Widely regarded as one of the best Czech goalkeepers of her generation, Votíková brings a wealth of experience from both domestic and international football. In addition to her club success, she has earned over 40 caps for the Czech national team, bringing the team to the brink of European qualification on multiple occasions - with the team hoping to secure qualification for next summer’s UEFA Women’s Euro 2025.
Speaking about her return, Votíková said “I grew up playing football here, Slavia gave me the opportunity to move abroad, where I gained valuable experience. Now I would like to bring it back to the Club and I believe I have something to pass on. I want to help us get into the Champions League and win the cup and the league. I can't wait for the season to start."
