Diego Restrepo named Goalkeeper Coach for Manchester City

Manchester City Women has appointed Diego Restrepo as their new first team goalkeeping coach. The Welsh National Team coach joins after both playing and coaching experience in the USA, having been part of Bay FC’s inaugural NWSL season in 2024 and previously working in the MLS with DC United.

The Citizens are heading into a big season where they return to the UEFA Women’s Champions League, alongside domestic competitions. Their goalkeeping lineup includes Khiara Keating, the young English goalkeeper who won the WSL Golden Glove award for 2023/24, and Ayaka Yamashita, the Japanese #1 who was signed ahead of the summer, alongside Scottish international Sandy Maciver and Katie Startup.

Separately, Diego’s parallel role with the Welsh National Team sees The Dragons seeking major tournament qualification to Euro 2025 for the first time in their history. He will continue both roles, for the foreseeable future.

Congratulations, Diego!
