Stine Sandbech extends with BK Häcken

Stine Sandbech Extends With BK Hacken

Stine Sandbech Extends With BK Häcken at the Bravida Arena, Gothenburg.

BK Häcken have today confirmed the extension of Danish international forward Stine Sandbech (née Larsen).

The new contract follows the Danish international’s return to the pitch from an ACL earlier this month.  The long-awaited return, 18 months after her last match, topped off a landmark personal year for Stine, in which she gave birth to her baby daughter and got married - which will see Stine adopt her new surname, Sandbech, going forward.

Speaking after committing the next two seasons to the Gulsvart, Stine said: "The decision about extending my contract was easy - it felt right in my stomach, my heart and head. Knowing that me and my family will stay two more years here in Gothenburg feels really good.

“I feel there’s an unfinished job here - to win the gold - and that’s a journey I’m really looking forward to be a part of.

“A lot has happened in the past couple of years - while many have been good things, it has also been tough. Often you get the greatest gifts in the toughest times, which has been the case - I’ve become mom to Lulu, got married and made my comeback. I’m very happy and grateful for where I am today.”

Prior to the injury, Stine had been on fire for the eventual Damallsvenskan runners-up in 2022, contributing 11 goals and 10 assists, before following that up with six goals for Club and country in the first months of 2023, prior to the injury.

After missing out on the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2023, Stine is hungry to get back to the pitch for club and country, with at least one eye on Euro 2025 next summer.

For Denmark, the experienced attacker has scored 22 goals in 73 appearances, featured at Euro 2022 and was a key part of the Rød-hvide’s memorable Euro 2017 campaign, which saw Stine pick up a runners-up medal after shining in an unfamiliar role in the backline. that saw the attacker, playing in the backline.  After missing out on the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2023, Stine is hungry to get back to the pitch for Club and country, with at least one eye on Euro 2025 next summer!

We can’t wait to see you get back to your best, Stine!
