Kathrine Kühl signs with Arsenal
Arsenal have today confirmed the transfer of Danish international midfielder Kathrine Møller Kühl from FC Nordsjælland on a long-term contract.
After starting her senior career during the 2019/20 season, the 19-year-old spent 3.5 years at FC Nordsjælland, including winning the Danish Cup title in 2020, where she was also named Final MVP.
Kühl has already become a prominent figure in the Danish national team, with 21 caps since her debut in June 2021, and started the final match at UEFA Women’s Euro 2022. She was named Danish Young Player of the Year earlier this year, alongside being recognised in the NXGN and Golden Girl lists.
At Arsenal, Kühl will join a team that currently sit second in the Barclays Women’s Super League and will also compete in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Women’s Champions League later this year. Arsenal unveiled their new signing today, with Head Coach Jonas Eidevall describing Kathrine as “one of the brightest talents in Europe”. In terms of her role, Eidevall says: “She will bring added creativity to our midfield and I’m sure she will benefit from working closely with some of our experienced players. I’m looking forward to working with her here at Arsenal.”
Speaking about the opportunity, Kühl said: “I'm very excited and am looking forward to playing for Arsenal. It's a big step for me. I feel like there are so many great things around the club; all the fans and the community, it's like a sisterhood in some way. So, I'm looking forward to being a part of that.”
We look forward to watching Kathrine get started!
