Amalie Vangsgaard transfers to Juventus

Danish Player of the Year Amalie Vangsgaard signs for Juventus Women at the Allianz Training Centre in Vinovo, Italy.

Juventus Women today announces the permanent transfer of Danish international striker, Amalie Vangsgaard, on a three-year contract. The 27 year old joins the five-time Serie A Femminile winners after two seasons in French Division 1 with Paris Saint-Germain, most recently winning the Club’s fourth Coupe de France title.

The versatile attacker joins a Bianconeri team looking to bounce back after two consecutive second-place finishes in Serie A. As well as returning to the summit of Italian football, the team are looking to reestablish themselves in Europe, with a challenging draw expected in UWCL qualifying. Since joining Serie A in 2017, Juventus have played a pioneering role in Italian women’s football, offering their women’s team a world-class training facility at the Allianz Training Centre in Vinovo and playing several key fixtures at the Allianz Stadium, which has previously been sold-out.

The move to Turin is the attacker’s third Club since leaving FC Nordsjælland in 2021. After 18 months in Sweden with Linköping, where Vangsgaard led the league with 22 goals in 25 matches and was named Attacker of the Year, the Dane moved to French leaders PSG in January 2023. In Paris, she scored 10 goals for the Club, leading them to consecutive Coupe de France finals and the semi-finals of the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

At international level, Vangsgaard was named Danish Player of the Year in January 2024, after establishing her place in the national team during 2023. After her first goal during the FIFA Women’s World Cup, Vangsgaard has now scored 8 goals and has been a top-3 scorer during the UEFA Nations League. The team are currently second in their pursuit of qualification for UEFA Women’s EURO 2025 in Switzerland, which would be the attacker’s first senior EURO tournament.

Questioned about her goals in Turin, Vangsgaard said: "To score lots of goals, win trophies and help the team do their best: I want to seize this great opportunity, I can't wait to meet our fans."

Congratulations and good luck, Amalie!
