Rachel Furness extends with Bristol City

Rachel Furness has today extended her stay at Ashton Gate, signing a one-year contract extension until the end of the 2023/24 Barclays Women's Super League season.

Rachel first joined the Club in February to support their promotion push in the Barclays Women's Championship. She made 8 starts and 11 appearances in total, helping the Robins to return to the WSL after two seasons in the second tier.

Speaking about the decision to extend, Rachel said: “I really enjoyed my time at the club over the second half of last season, so for me it was a no brainer to remain as part of this squad and help it develop and progress into the WSL. I came in last season and hopefully I showed my leadership skills and experience in the short time I was here. We’ve got a fantastic group of girls and a brilliant working environment and I want to help as much as I can on and off the pitch as we make the transition to the top flight."
