Mary Earps wins The Best FIFA Women’s Goalkeeper 2022

Mary Earps was tonight named The Best FIFA Women’s Goalkeeper 2022 during a gala event at the historic Salle Pleyel in Paris. In front of some of the biggest names in football, past and present, the Lioness and Manchester United number one was selected ahead of previous winner Christiane Endler and WSL counterpart Ann-Katrin Berger.

After being presented her prize by Olympic Champion Stephanie Labbé and Didier Drogba, Mary addressed the crowd with an impassioned speech:

"This is for anyone who's ever been in a dark place. Just know that there's light at the end of the tunnel. Keep going. You can achieve anything you set your mind to. Sometimes success looks like this — collecting trophies — sometimes it's just waking up and putting one step in front of the other. There's only one of you in the world, and that's more than good enough. Be unapologetically yourself."

Congratulations, Mary!
