Brian Sørensen agrees new extension with Everton Women

The Danish manager has today agreed to a new two-year contract extension with Everton Women, following positive discussions with The Friedkin Group since their takeover in December 2024.

Sørensen’s contract now runs until Summer 2027, and will see him extend on his three years at the Club, there the Toffees have finished in sixth and eighth place in the Women’s Super League, with the team in contention to finish even higher during the current season.

The extension comes with the Dane as the second-longest-serving manager in the league and reflects Sørensen’s success at navigating a difficult period in the Club’s history during the past years, with financial issues influencing ongoing player sales and player recruitment. However, since the arrival of the new owners, the Club has already been able to be more active in recruitment, with five signings (both permanent and on-loan) during the winter transfer window.

Speaking about his thoughts, Sørensen shared “I am super happy and excited to sign this contract. My family are really settled in the city and I am at the Club. I have spoken to our owners and we want stability and to try to create consistency in what we are doing. Putting together a very competitive squad is the first aim for the summer. Then, secondly, making sure we build our staff and performance around it at Finch Farm every day. When we put all of that together, let's see where it can take us. I'm very confident we are in a project heading in the right way.”

Congratulations, Brian!
